I feel it is unfair! People say HBCU's are no longer needed. Well I beg to differ African Americans still don't have civil equality in America and our fore fathers fought civil wars for equality. If federal funding is stripped that drastically and stays stripped it we'll make it that much harder for my people to make it through coll./uni. The average black family still makes less money than the average white family.

I totally agree. And also attending a HBCU has tuaght me more about my culture than I've ever learned in my 20yrs of living. I used to be one of those boogy black girls that didn't want to be around other blacks because of what was portrayed in the media about us, but now I know better. Attending a HBCU places us in a comfortable environment and allows us to get the eduaction we need to make it in the world and be as successful as the white community, and not have to worry about fighting racial inequality in our classes or around campus.

I would to say to my younger fellow morganites not to be discouraged by the media blitz. We have come a long way to be educated, and lets not allow Bush or anyone turn us around. I am so proud to have returned to school and acquired knowledge I would have never gained if I had not came to Morgan. I love Morgan Everyday. Thank you for hearing the call to educate and enpower..
