The week of April 19, 2008 marks the much anticipated "I Love Morgan Week," and most importantly, "I Love Morgan Day." The festivities are similar to Morgan State University's Homecoming, minus the Homecoming game. Similar to Homecoming, "I Love Morgan Week" and "I Love Morgan Day" celebrate Morgan pride and unity.
It's finally time to introduce the man behind the plan. He was appointed by President Earl S. Richardson to take over and revive the athletic program to the greatness it once enjoyed in college sports history. Mr. Floyd Kerr, a twin, was born in Oxford, Mississippi and moved to Southbend, Indiana at the age of four.
Baltimore, MD-On Thursday, April 17, 2008, A Los Angeles Jury found 75 year old Olga Rutterschmidt guilty of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the 2005 killing of Kenneth McDavid, 53, a homeless man in the area. Hungarian born Rutterschmidt and her "partner in crime", 77 year old Helen Golay of Texas allegedly concocted a plan of murder for profit; the scheme lead the women to befriend two homeless men and take them in, take out life insurance claims on them, and ultimately murder the two to collect the insurance money.
I find it amazing that I'm actually only weeks away from graduating. Not just graduating from a school, I've done that before. But this is graduation from one kind of life to the next. May 18 passes and I'm no longer a student anymore, but a full-fledged adult.
Summertime that time of year when everyone tends to come out from hiding; people begin to spend more and more time outside and less time on the inside, seemingly in hibernation. Children begin to swarm the streets in droves as school begins to let out, some even start playing "hookie" as they begin to skip and cut class before the semester even ends, all in the name of enjoying the good weather.
