Last semester, student were very irate with the below average status of the new student center.

Students will now be happy to come into the student center and be amazed with all of the newest upgrades made to the center. It was long awaited for the upgrades and improvements are still coming your way.

In the April 18th issue of the Spokesman, an article was written to explain to the students why a lot of other students were upset with the status of the new student center. Students displayed their many concerns and something had to be done to satisfy the students. An interview with Director of the Student Center, Mr. Taliaferro, provided students with detailed information regarding why the student center was not 100%. Game consoles that were promised to the students were not yet available, the cyber café providing students with a social atmosphere was not open, and many other things promised to students had not yet been in place. Mr. Taliaferro promised that the student center would be running smoothly in the times to come.

Well finally that time has come. After taking a walk through the student center over the summer, a lot of things had actually arrived for the students. All new arcade games have been installed in the 2nd floor game room. Students can select from various arcade titles of a racing simulator, Pacman/Galaga arcade game, tactical shooting simulator Time Crisis III and many more. "We have a lot of request from students on which arcade games we should get next." says Recreation Manager Kevin Richardson, while extensively looking through paperwork. "Right now we are waiting on the barstools for the pool tables and the game consoles will be set up during the summer. The monitors will be brought in and set up to allow students to play on those." Playstation 3, X-Box 360, and the Nintendo Wii systems will definitely be set up during the summer to allow students the joy to play. "If we get more arcade games, they wouldn't be arriving until next year." says Richardson. Some students might feel intimidated to play the arcade games due to the assumptions of games being expensive at other places. All of the arcade games require only 1 token to operate. This happens to be the equivalent to a quarter or if you will 25 cents. The same Time Crisis III game that regularly cost 4 quarters at Muvico Theaters located in Arundel Mills only cost 1 quarter for the students here at Morgan. This is yet another thing students can be happy about. Students always walked pass the closed Cyber Café and it's almost complete. Chairs and computers are currently available to the students as well as couches where students can relax at. Ms. Jones, the Cyber Café's Director was unavailable for comment at the time. The construction outside of the student center is finally complete so students will not have to alter their path due construction detours. The student center is looking fabulous and there is still more great things to come.
Mr. T was right when he said that things were finally going to arrive for the student center and be in place to make the student's stay at Morgan exciting.
