They describe themselves as a quiet storm and their coaches describe them as special and as comedians. But they all agree that the 2007-2008 Lady Bears Basketball team's legacy of greatness will be continued.  It's no surprise then that the Lady Bears are making history once again and look forward to concluding the season of achieving their team goals.
Look for the new record, as it is about to be set…with two games approaching, there are hopes that the Lady Bears could set a new school record for Division I wins; they are currently tied.  But it doesn't stop there. If the Lady Bears add the remaining games to their wins they will also tie for the longest winning streak, a streak that hasn't been broken since it was set in the 1981-82 season. That season the Lady Bears had ten consecutive wins.
"It feels good to change the losing culture around here," describes sophomore Corin "Tiny" Adams. "And now that we're setting records here and there it's a really good feeling." She concludes.
Only losing three players to graduation (Britney Griffin, Shalane Price and LaTonya Grady), we can expect to see the five newcomers take the court.
"The exodus of our seniors, yeah they will be missed, but I think that we will be able to go on.  We have five kids that are sitting down right now and they're all really good players one for each position," expresses Assistant Coach Donchez Graham.  Those newcomers include forward, Theresa Davis, guard, Fendi Pulliam-Richardson, forward, Danielle Scott, guard Brittany Dodson and guard, Omega Boddie.
The Lady Bears set their own team goals which included a 20-game winning season, a banner and a Mid Eastern Athletic Conference championship ring, as well as post season play in the NCAA Women's Tournament.  The Lady Bears currently have an overall record of 18-9 and a conference record of 10-4.  The Lady Bears will have to defeat Delaware State University and Coppin State University-all three teams are tied at third place in the conference- to check off their first goal.  In addition the lady bears have their eyes set on a bigger mountain to climb.
