Each year the Office Residence Life & Housing (ORL) sponsors Friendship Games. During this event all of the residence halls team up for friendly games of competition that promote unity, community, and fellowship. Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the Games, and this year's theme is "The Spirit of Alabi…" Each team will receive professionally designed t-shirts for their team's color that include the theme of the year and will be allowed to sign up for a variety of games/teams ranging from sports teams (track, basketball, football, etc.) to the academic bowl! The events are over the course of a week and are in the evenings each night.

Our opening ceremony will be on Monday, April 28, 2008 and includes a "Rep Your Hall" portion, a parade of residence hall banners, and give-a-ways that will lead us into the first event of the week! At the closing ceremony on Friday, May 2, 2008 trophies will be presented to the teams that win overall for the competitions and medals will also be awarded.

Hopefully we've gotten you interested, so come out and join us for the 21st Annual FRIENDSHIP GAMES!! Stop by our table in the University Student Center during the week of April 14th for more information on the events and how to sign-up for a team or be a volunteer or supporter!!

PLEASE NOTE: Only students who are residents of Marble Hall Gardens, Morgan View, Harper-Tubman House, O'Connell Hall, Baldwin Hall, Cummings House, Rawlings Hall, Blount Towers, and Thurgood Marshall Complex can participate on the teams but ANYONE can come out to show support and watch the games!!!!
